It produces stabdhata & sandhigraha leading to the restricted movements of joints & it becomes responsible for crippling effect seen in the patients.

Additional Ayurvedic Treatment:
- The patient is put on a fast (langhan), so that his metabolism improves. The undigested toxic juice gets time to digest.
- To help in the digestion of undigested juice, trikatu choorna medicine, which is a combination of sonth or dried ginger powder, Balinese pepper or peepli or black pepper powder, is given to the patients to increase the body heat or teepan.
- Application of dry heat to the joints is another treatment recommended in Ayurvedic treatment. A small bag of sand heated on a hot iron or skillet is applied to the joints.
- Panchkarma treatment is done, in which purgation therapy or virechari is done. In this therapy, castor oil is given in good amount to induce bowel movement, which is a detoxification procedure, adopted to clean the intestine. This helps in opening of the blocked pores through which enzymatic secretions take place.
