Lodhra scientifically known as Symplocos Racemosa, is one of the most recognized Ayurvedic herbs for curbing women’s health issues. For gynaecological issues like frequently occurring abortion or miscarriage, it is highly recommended.
It is very useful to nourish the skin and coping up with wrinkles, acne and other skin diseases. Many Ayurvedic skin packs are made from Lodhra due to this rejuvenation property. It is also said to be having characteristics of protection of liver and controlling diabetes. Lodhra is effective in pacifying Kapha, controlling pitta and other diseases related to it.
Lodhra is useful in removing edema. It is also considered to be haemostatic, ant leprosy and has many wound healing properties. Because of this, its paste can be externally used in bleeding wounds, other skin diseases, ulcers and swelling. It is also a pain reliever in Edema. The powder form of Lodhra can be used to treat Ear discharge. In tooth pastes and powders, bark of Lodhra is very useful because it helps strengthen the gums.
Because of its astringent property, Lodhra is used in diarrhea, tenesmus and dysentery.
In treating bleeding disorders, Lodhra's property of being coagulant is very helpful. It helps in blocking constant bleeding and reducing the wound’s swelling.
