Lord Dhanwantri

Lord Dhanwantri is considered to be the father of medicine and health as per Hindu Scriptures. He is considered to be an Avatar of Lord Vishnu and there are numerous references about him in scriptures like the Vedas and the Puranas. He is referred to as the physician of the Gods and the founder of what is known as Ayurvedic medicine. He is also said to be the first ever physician and surgeon.

Dhanwantri is worshiped in India as the God of health and immortality. He is portrayed as holding the pot containing the nectar of immortality, and is said to be the preserver of the world from all diseases.

धन्वन्तरी मंत्र

ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय
धन्वंताराय अमृत कलस हस्ताय !
सर्व अमय विनाशाय त्रैलोक्य नाथाय
धन्वन्तरी महा विष्णवे नमः !!
