Shukti Bhasma is an Ayurvedic remedy prepared from ‘Shukti' or conch shells. It is also referred to as Shankh Bhasm. The Bhasma is a key element of Ayurvedic treatment of gastritis, malabsorption syndrome, abdominal pain, and many more.
Shankh or Conch Shell Ash (also termed as Divine Conch, Sacred Chank, Turbinella Pyrum) has its medicinal benefits range far and wide. It is a source of natural calcium as well as vitamin C. ‘Chank' helps to keep bones, teeth, and cell membrane healthy.
Usage of Shukti Bhasma
Traditionally, Shukti is administered with lemon juice, honey, Triphalakashaya, etc. It is a major element of treating diarrhoea, indigestion, loss of appetite, acid reflux, liver enlargement (hepatomegaly), splenomegaly, abdominal pain, acne, pimples. Besides, it also acts as a coolant and helps to improve skin complexion. Shukti absorbs easily and compensates the calcium necessary for the body.
This amazing ingredient is also suitable for curing abdominal distension, heartburn, and irritable bowel syndrome. Conch or Chank relieves the body of calcium-deficient condition, especially in case of growing children and adolescent as well as post-menopausal women.

Shukti Bhasma is Sheeta Virya or coolant in terms of potency. The detailed ayurvedic properties of Shukti are –

Side Effects of Shukti Bhasma
As of this day, there are no recorded side effects of Shilajeet. It is normally prescribed in lower doses for lactating women and children. Consult a doctor for usage during pregnancy.
